Navigating the world of APD and MedWaiver can be a daunting, confusing, and an overwhelming task. We have included a brief description of services and some resources below to help navigate that world. Don't hesistate to reach out with any additional questions you may have!
What is APD?
Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) serves the needs of Floridians diagnosed with developmental disabilities prior to their 18th birthday. Services are targeted at providing assistance in living, learning, and working within their communities by providing social, medical, behavioral, residential, and/or therapeutic services tailored to each consumer.

Cerebral palsy
Spina bifida
Intellectual disabilities
Down syndrome
Prader-Willi syndrome
Phelan-McDermid syndrome
Children age 3-5 who are at a high risk of a developmental disability
What is CDC+?
Consumer Direct Care (CDC+) is a program funded through MedWaiver but instead of transactions being conducted between the service provider and the government, consumers are billed directly for services. This gives the consumer the opportunity to hire workers and vendors directly. Paid workers may even be family members or friends.
Once the application has been submitted to APD and the consumer is approved for MedWaiver funding; the consumer can then apply for the CDC+ program through their assigned Support Coordinator.
What is MedWaiver?
iBudget Florida is the Medicaid Waiver program for persons with Developmental Disabilities. MedWaiver works in tandem with APD and funding is provided by the Florida government to pay for not just our program but other services needed by a consumer. The waitlist for MedWavier can be up to 7 years, so it is imperative to apply as soon as possible in order to receive funding and services as soon as possible. To apply to MedWaiver, you need only submit an application to APD, but know this term may be used when discussing funding and APD.

Once approved for MedWaiver, a WSC, or Support Coordinator, will be assigned to your young adult and he/she will be your main point of contact for funding and receiving services.
What is FCC?
Florida Community Care (FCC+) has been charged with running the new "Managed Care Plan for the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Pilot Program". FCC's primary aim is to move people off of MedWaiver's waiting list and get services faster. But as it is a managed care program, this is not always the best choice for some families.

The initial process is the same as above but if your young adult has been waitlisted, then you can apply on FCC's website to instead receive funding from them. The major difference between the two is providers must be contracted with FCC in order for your young adult to receive services from a provider.
